Meet Emily from Oakland California.
Emily was here last week and surprised herself by getting started on art journaling, even though she had not done it in years.
Feeling intimidated? Not to worry, use these 3 tips and art journal away
3 Super Simple Tips
- Give your self permission to go with the flow and do it your way – There is no right or wrong way of doing art journaling. There is only one way and that is your way.
- Get over your fear of the blank space.
If you fear messing up the first pages, then leave them blank – you can always go back, when you find out what you want to put into that place.Don’t let the fear of messing up those first pages hold you back from getting started in the first place.
(You can also do your art work on a blank piece of paper and then cut out what you want, leave out what you don’t want, then use a glue stick and see what part you want to add to your journal.)
- Make art journaling a daily practice.
Even just for 10 minutes a day will help engage your whole brain, which is great for problem solving (and yes, this is now evidence based).
